Origami Holiday Tree

New York City is especially bright during the holiday season. Festive decorations and unique events make it an exciting time to be in town.

One of the more unique holiday features is the Origami Holiday Tree at the American Museum of Natural History. For more than 30 years, this one-of-kind work of art is intricate array of origami art. This year, the theme of the tree is Folding the Museum, according to the museum Web site. The 13-foot tree will be adorned paper ornaments of gorillas, cows, pigs and other creatures represented in the museum's diverse exhibits.

Visitors dazzled by the origami art can take a stab at it themselves, as the museum will provide origami folding lessons to people of all ages.

The Origami Holiday Tree will be on display at the American Museum of Natural History from Nov. 24 to Jan. 1.
