Immerse yourself in the Revolution

Lovers of American history should make a point to visit the Fraunces Tavern Museum at 54 Pearl Street in Downtown Manhattan. Run by the Sons of the Revolution of New York, the Fraunces Tavern Museum features a exhibits on the Revolutionary War and early American history, and frequently hosts lectures on a variety of topics pertaining to this key period in the development of the United States.

The museum itself is an historical treasure. According to the Fraunces Tavern Museum Web site, the Tavern was built in 1719 as a residence for the merchant Stephan Delancey and his family. Samuel Fraunces purchased the home in 1762 and turned into a popular tavern. The tavern went on to host a number of historical events, including Washington's farewell address to the officers of the Continental Army, in 1783.

The Fraunces Tavern Museum will take you back in time, but getting there doesn't have to. Contact New York Limousine for quick and convenient service to the museum and other great locations around the city.
