A taste of Latin America in Brooklyn
Before this past weekend I had no idea what a pupusa was, but thanks to a trip to Red Hook, Brooklyn, I know what they are, and I know that they are very delicious.
Pupusas are just one of the many tasty treats you will find alongside Red Hook Park, where vendors hailing from El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and other Latin American countries gather every weekend to bring their fare to the hungry crowds.
Don't be fooled by the cheap prices (a full meal is easily attained at about $5). This is high-quality food that is big on flavor and freshness, proving that you don't have to pay a lot to get a good meal in New York City.
While at the park, check out a soccer game or two, and you got yourself a fun outing in one of Brooklyn's most charming neighborhoods.
