Waterfalls rush over NYC

New York Limousine

The East River comes alive this summer with The New York City Waterfalls exhibition. Presented by the Public Art Fund, this unique project, designed by artist Olafur Eliasson, features four man-made waterfalls located at various points along the East River: one on the Brooklyn anchorage of the Brooklyn Bridge; one on the Brooklyn Piers, between Piers 4 and 5 near the Brooklyn Heights Promenade; one in Lower Manhattan at Pier 35 north of the Manhattan Bridge; and one on the north shore of Governors Island.

Standing at 90 to 120 feet, the Waterfalls are not only an impressive from an artistic viewpoint, but from an engineering one as well. Each structure is designed to circulate water from the river without disturbing the wildlife that resides within the water, thus creating a piece that is both beautiful and environmentally sound.

The Waterfalls operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, except Tuesdays and Thursdays, when they will run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visitors looking for a one-of-a-kind perspective should view the exhibit after sunset when the Waterfalls are lit. The exhibition runs through Oct. 13.

Viewing the Waterfalls is easy with New York Limo. Just contact us and we will provide fast and convenient service to any and all of the exhibition sites.
