Memorial Day comes this Monday, May 28th, and is a time to reflect on those who have given their lives to our country, liberty, and safety. Here, this holiday tends to be more poignant, given the events that continue to touch our lives. Next week you may see more visitors to the Ground Zero site (there are walking tours available on Monday), yet Memorial Day events are scheduled throughout the boroughs. Riverside Park, for one, will host a commemoration service at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, while a similar ceremony and parade is planned at John Paul Jones Park.
