For us to recommend one style of cuisine to enjoy during a trip to New York City would be impossible. The culinary delights here are as varied as the people who create and enjoy them. From the corner hot dog stand to the five-star, white-gloved service in Manhattan, the palate is never disappointed.
If, however, you are pressed for time in the city, we suggest taking a tour with The Enthusiastic Gourmet. Forty-five bucks will get you a 2-3 tour of various eateries, from the Kosher delis and Latin markets of the Lower East Side to the exotic meats and spices of Chinatown. Coming up are the NY Nosh Food Tour and the Melting Pot Tour, complete with samples (don't worry about overeating, they'll have you walk it off).
If you're in the mood for something sweet, hop in a limo and get down to the Metropolitan Pavilion this weekend for the 8th annual Chocolate Show. Cooking demonstrations, chocolate sculptures and oil paintings, and even a fashion show for the well-dressed chocoholic are scheduled. Charlie and Veruca never had it so good.
