From Russia With Love
Russia! is a current popular exhibition at one of our oft-requested destinations, the Guggenheim Museum on 5th Avenue and 89th. Over two hundred items, from 13th century Eastern Orthodox icons to paintings and sculpture by noted contemporary artists like Ilya Kabakov, are on display; some of these art works have never before been seen outside Russia, so this is an excellent opportunity to take a ride into Manhattan and absorb a culture we are able to enjoy once again. This exhibit, unfortunately, won't be around for next year's Museum Mile Festival, so if you're in town through the end of the year, call us up and we'll get you there.
Daily tours of the Russia! exhibit are included in the admission price to the museum - tours set daily through January 11, 2006. The Guggenheim is open Saturday through Wednesday from 10AM to 5:45PM, and until 8PM on Fridays. Afterward, enjoy dinner at nearby Cafe Sabarsky, known for its artistic decor and fine German/American cuisine, or Caffe Grazie, if you're in the mood for some upscale Italian.
